New Beginnings: A Personal Progress Pageant

This years new Beginnings night has been my favorite thus far. (I'm on year 3!) I made the sashes and these girls gave talks on their value. We had Brandon sing a made up song about Personal Progress to the tune of "Here she is Miss America". Then Emily who was the third runner up to Miss Canada in 2000 come and talked to the girls about how Personal Progress is the ultimate make over and that we need to spend as much time making ourselves beautiful on the inside as we spend on the outside. It was an awesome night. Truly amazing. These girls are amazing, my counselors are awesome! It definitely gave me the boost I needed to carry on and do this longer!

A little dress for Lyla

My friend who knits the coolest hats and has a business called "Mutze" just had her third baby girl. I made this dress for her and found some really cute purple Robeez that matched. I tried the ribbon on the bottom and really liked how it turned out.

Halloween advent Calendar

I had fun doing this project. It gave me a chance to do something creative and pull out all the scrapbook stuff I don't really use much anymore. My kids are excited about opening each box for a Halloween surprise each day of the month! Yes I realize we only have 12 days until Halloween, but better late than never right?
This was an invitation delivered to us for our across the street neighbor. Oh my the cuteness! The party was so amazing. Michelle seriously goes all out for her kid's parties. It was like Disneyland cute, all homemade. She is a professional cake decorator too so the cake was a pirate's boat with octopus tentacles wrapped around it. I've never seen any cake so amazing....ever. I'm definitely going to copy this cute invite, so thought some of you might want to as well!

Soaring to a Successful Year

Every year at our Elementary, they have this balloon ceremony to start off the new school year. Each kid gets to release a balloon into the sky to represent them "Soaring to Success". It was fun to take the little boys over and enjoy it this year. Josh however started crying when he realized the fate of his beloved balloon, so I quickly reassured him only the big kids who go to the big school have to set theirs free. All preschoolers get to take theirs home. Phewww, thank goodness for that. 1200 hundred balloons!

Back to School cupcakes

We have the best neighbors here in Las Vegas. We love them. Michelle from across the street is really good at cake decorating. She made these cupcakes for all the kids on our corner to celebrate back to school! The worms are made out of gum paste and the leaves out of fondant. She is truly talented. She also made celebrating the first day of summer cupcakes that had inner tubes made from frosting with kids also made of frosting floating on them!
